I have a 99 Expy Eddie Bauer 5.4 4wd 81K miles.
My problem seems to have a few too many possible causes so I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

The biggest problem seems to be that when I'm coming to a stop the engine dies. The other problem is that when I turn the engine off after driving for a while, it won't start again for 5-10 minutes. Every once in a while the "Service Engine Soon" light comes on, but it doesn't stay on for very long (a day at most).

But it is throwing a code P0320 - my Chilton's manual says that is "Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction" but I'm not sure what to do to fix that.

I love my expy and this is the first problem that I've really had with it. ARGH!!!

Gavin, sounds like you may have more than one issue. Your stalling at lights may be the IAC motor. A smal valve located just behind the throttle body controls the idle speed based on how much air comes into the intake manifold. Sounds like this valve is stuck closed. How does it idle when you start it first thing in the AM? The hard starting after running then stopping may be the same issue. Fix the warm idle issue first, the other may clear up as well. Dan
