Has anyone had an issue with 2018 Expedition A/C compressor suddenly quitting? I sent my car to one mechanic he put 4 compressors on it and never could get the car to pump more Freon. He said it was an electrical issue and Ford had their “software” locked. Fast forward a week Ford tells me I need another compressor but that didn’t work either. They believe I NOW need a new PCM. What do y’all think?

Is the compressor just not turning on? Or does it engage and then lock up soon.

You can use a program called Forscan, via the OBD II Port, which will give you self-demand tests.
There should be a test that makes the PCM tell the A/C Compressor Clutch to engage, even when the engine is off.

From what I know, every Expedition 2010 and newer came with a PCM Controlled A/C System.

If you can get access to that self-demand test, and the A/C Compressor Clutch engages, then you know you have a good PCM.....

I see a lot of other forums talking about it the forscan. I need to get that! But anyways, The A/C clutch it’s coming on and the compressor will pump Freon, but the dealership says the PCM is shorting out the compressor and not turning on.
They want me to pay for a new compressor after the last one was perfectly fine and now saying there is a PCM issue.

A decent scan tool will allow you to read the pcm 'PIDs' (live data). Ford did a good job with a/c pids and will tell you why the pcm won't give permission to operate. And of course any possible trouble codes.

OP, what was the root cause of you issue? I have a 2018 that keeps blowing fuse F32 that supplies the AC compressor mag clutch. I only measure 5amp current draw at fuse yet it will blow a 20A fuse. No issues with wiring to compressor that I can find.
