Has anyone experienced a a/c musty smell? I have a 2001 5.4L and a musty smell has started to appear inside the vehicle. Does anyone know if there is a a/c condensation "tray" and/or drain hose on this vehicle? I have looked under the vehicle on passengers side with no luck. Thanks.

What you have is mold growing in your condenser it's self, not the tray, what to do is buy some lysol disinfectant, turn your blower on medium, and while it's running, spray it in your intake buy either removing your cowling or just spraying it through it (outside, passinger side, just below the windshield, look and you'll see the grates in the cowling) then turn off your blower and let it set at least 2hr's,or over night, the longer the better. Do this also if you have a second system in back. this i learned from a dealer it does work.

BLE is correct. The dealer has a kit that is used also that they actually drill into the duct work by the evaporator and spray in disinfectant through a straw. They seal it back up eithe rwith a plug or silicone. The easiest way to avoid this in the future is to ALWAYS run the fan after the A/C has been on a while. Shut off the A/C and let the air circulate through the evaporator/duct work for a minute to warm it back up during hot days so that the condensation cannot form.
