Hello everyone at forums, got this problem, my 2000 expedition leaves the A/C ON after turning vehicle off, sometimes I turn SUV Off walk away after loking the doors and few minutes after the A/C turns on if I don't see it on time it just drains the battery.
When this happens the only way to turn off the A/C is by disconnecting the battery.
Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance TURBO

Not sure if that is happening but I'll check, also I was today looking under the dash right at the fuse box and with the ignition key ON there is a sound like a short circuit, no burning smell but the sound, like squeezing aluminum foil...............right behind the fuse box its a black box like ECU, there is another one very far behind the fuse box near the windshield like you said but the sound comes from the one looks glued to the fuse box. I removed the key stood on the driver seat and the door bell started sounding a couple of seconds then off I check the bottom left relay activates at he bells starts. I think on Monday will look for a way to remove the fuse box completely from under the dash and look for the sound................Thanks for the info will also look at what you mention.
Thanks in advance TURBO.

Turbo, pull the relay for the blower motor. that will kill the blower motor and prevent you from draining the battery. From there, find a matching relay and see if putting that second relay into the blower motor spot will cause the blower motor to turn on. If it does not, then you have a failed relay. if it does, then you have a wiring issue and that is going to take more time to troubleshoot. If the blower motor continues to run with the relay removed, then you have crossed power wires between the relay and the control unit in the dash.

Hope this helps.

Ah we think alike, I just got the h@ynes repair manual to identify wish is the relay, because I don't have the manual previous owner didn't give it to dealer when gave this Expedition in trade in.........so I got no clue what fuse relay are, with the book I hope it tells me wish is wish.
Since I posted this thread the SUV hasn't done it again, can't fix something is working properly. But I have relays in spare put them in the SUV so when this happens again I can start swapping relays and find the problem. Thanks

The black box that piggy backs on the fuse block under the dash is the GEM module. I had issues similar to yours sometime back and it was traced to water in the gem module/fuse block. This is a common issue with a windshield leak but while researching this I have also seen cases where the driver door seals fail in heavy rain causing the same problem.

Thanks I thought the white looking box that looks is hanging from exactly below the windshield was the GEM module, thanks for clarifying. I just need to find out how to remove it from there, next to it is a tubular thing taking space I could use to remove this, I'll report back in a few days, I am going to spend sometime to the expedition on this matter, thanks in advance TURBO
