a4wd light

I'm new to this forum and looking for help. I picked up a 98 eb this summer and have a question about the a4wd light. This morning I switched from 2wd to a4wd 4h and 4l while I was in park to ensure everything was in working order. The a4wd light comes on the dash when I put it in a4wd but when I switch to 4 high or low the dash still reads a4wd, is this the only indication for all 3 4x4 modes? Or should a 4h or 4l light come on? Thanks for any help in advanced.

Yes, and it does not say. I even have the original manuals for towing and 4x4 nothing either.

when you switch from 2wd to a4wd there should be a light that comes on and when going into 4h you should get the 4X4 light come on and then for 4l there should be a low light come on Look at the owners manual under instrumentation and it will show you where the lights are also in the manual under driving it will explain how and when to shift

Thanks for your help, I was looking in the wrong part of my owners manual. I was trying to go into 4h from park and I have to be in neutral. Thanks again.

is everything working ok also when you go into 4L you must be stopped in nutural and foot on the brake

just in fun but USN to the rescue been out since 1970 you can get a good service manual on E-BAY for $10.00 which also has the electrical prints I'll send you the sellers name if you want

Haha I can take a joke just as good as the next guy, I have all the original manuals including the service book, I m just more of a try something until it works kind of guy and when I did try to read the manual I read the wrong section.
