Aare these things lighted at night?

The light switch itself, and the outside mirror control switch?
If so, I need to go after them and fix them.

I am pretty sure the outside mirror switch should be lit. My old man has an 04 and I am trying to think of what it looks like in there. By the light switch, do you mean your headlight switch?

Yes, the light switch assembly, and the remote mirror switch assembly. I also have to fix the lighting in the master window switch on drivers door, only the back window switch on drivers door is lit. Weird, as I think they are all LED's which presumably last the life of the vehicle.
I do have the electrical factory workshop manual on the way so I guess if I was patient enough, I can get explicit details.

I know the fog light indicator does light up, but I wasn't sure if the rest of the assembly lights up?

According to the wiring manual I now have, it (the switch assembly) does have backlighting. That is on the short list....

FWIW, neither of those switches in my 04 EB light up..

Out of curiousity, where did you find the factory workshop manual / wiring manual? Does it cover 04-06? I'm looking for one.

EBAY has them, about 15 shipped. The real (paper) ones too. Not a stupid CD with hard to use PDF's. The pc board in the switches are a little under -engineered, they have wings, or tabs, that stick out pretty far unsupported and that leads to vibration that will crack the joint at the surface mounted LED's or resistors. Just heat it up at each those with a decent iron, and dab a slight amount of solder, and you should be good to go for another 50 or 100k.
