The AC on my new to me 99 Expy is weak at best. I noticed the previous owner got a recharge every 2 years over the last 6 years, in the spring. There were no leaks detected, held 2.5lbs as I recall from the mechanic tests.

Should I recharge now to pressurize and prevent leaks or just wait til spring? Never had to do this before, all the cars I have owned that were older didn't have AC...and the new cars I have owned never needed recharging.

Im not sure? I do know that when you use the defrost that it also uses the A/C to get the moisture out of the truck so the windows dont fog.
