Accelerator

I've got an '05 that that starts and runs fine, but when I depress the accelerator it starts sputtering and running like crap and then backfires. If I shut it off for a minute or two and restart it, it runs fine again until I once again depress the accelerator - same thing.
What might be the problem?

See if the throttle butterfly motor is gunked up. Take off the intake hose at the throttle body and spray some throttle body cleaner.
