I kinda' liked the soft yellow look of the stock ones but they really didn't do anything. These are actually functional............very.
Added LED puddle lights at under $10 for both, total.

Not bulbs, they are the complete sealed units with 18 little leds in them.

Ok, I found the videos, super easy. Inspired by this thread, I swapped out my puddle lights last night. look great and done cheap. I did use some heat-shrink o the exposed connectors to prevent shorts. I have electrical tape, but its gotten old and its adhesive has become, gummy. I'm sure that has water sealant properties, but I think I'll do better with the heat shrink.

They just sit wherever they end up in there so not a problem and water never gets in there. I just crammed mine in and they are fine but they do have the plastic covered connections.

What I find absolutely hilarious about your post though: If anyone else had posted this mod, your comment would most certainly be (said in old crotchety voice) “Ford spent millions designing and engineering those puddle lights. I only use stock. Stock is best. Ford knows better. Aftermarket is total waste of money!”
