So if I’m understanding correctly, swapping these out will eliminate the option of going full time rear diff lock and it will only kick in once wheel spin is detected?
Yes, assuming you have ELSD option.
My 21 does not so I didn't loose any functionality.. but gained 4H.

I saw this on fb and just added it on my wife’s 19 limited. I had the 4A & 2H before. I drove around the block and 4H worked like a charm. Definitely worth $60 imo! I tried the 4L just for giggles and it didn’t even attempt to switch to it (I wasn’t sure what truck would do). Took me all of 30 seconds from start to finish with literally no tools. IMG_1263.jpeg

Sooooo...

Just noticed this on the 2025 SSV. Haven't really looked much at the 5th gen models, but this caught my eye. All modes that I require that the other switches don't have (mainly the rear locker feature).

Found what looks like to be PN SL1B14B596CBW. Ordered one and going to try.

I have a 2019 2wd with HD tow and thus ELSD. I would love to have the diff lock button. Did anyone have the 4wd module with the diff lock button that they removed? If so, could I have it or try it? The 2wd’s don’t have a drive mode that locks the ELSD.

Drive mode on the 4wd’s is via CAN. On the 2wd’s, it is a pulse signal on a wire going to a different module.

Got the new switch in the mail today - SL1B14B596CBW.

Hit and a miss…

Switch plugged in and worked great tying in all possible features you could have in an Expedition and confirmed working. BUT, it is a couple of mm too small compared to the old switch dimensions and fell right though the console opening.

The other oddity was that the rotary drive mode worked opposite of the IC display (turn knob clockwise, IC display would scroll counterclockwise).

I don’t think this has to be the end of the road. I don’t have experience with 3D printing, but I’m sure a spacer to fill in the gap could make this work.

Just looked back into this thread. Good stuff Hilly. Does the middle knob work the rear diff locker?
