I recently purchased a 2007 EL E.B. and to my surprise does not have heated or cooled seats. I thought to myself, there's gotta be at least heated seats in this thing!! But no.. there isn't. Heck, my 2004 EB has heated and cooled seats. Anyway, so my thoughts were to add heated and cooled. I would like to do a factory setup. Obviously I would need a different control unit since there are no buttons for the heated and cooled seats. Can I reuse my seats and put the necessary parts inside the seats? I would also imagine that the factory wiring is there as well. Does not have a power passenger seat either. The original owner must have said to dealership, we want every option BUT heated and cooled seats. We don't like them!

The heated / cooled seats were an option on the EB's but standard on Limiteds.

Do your seats have the smooth leather or the perforated ( little holes ) ?
The way the heated / cooled function works is there is a small blower fan under the seat and behind the seat back that blows thru an element that either heats up or cools down. Within the seat there are small ducts directing the air up thru the perforations in the leather.

To add them would be big $$$ as you would need to replace the seats, add the DSCM control module under the passenger seat, all the wiring, and the control panel in the dash.

I'd keep my eyes open at the junk yards. There has to be a 3rd gen with the seats in good condition.

This. The seats are nice but I wouldn't pay any extra money for them or go to the trouble of swapping them out.

I put second gen navigator seats(so comfortable) in my first gen expedition but I only wired in the power seat function. I saw how to wire in controls for the seat heater/cooler. They are controlled by a few switches on the console like someone else pointed out. So if you wanted to swap consoles or add in your own switches you could probably do it. They do have 2 separate power wires that go to the seat so if you wanted to play it safe you may have to run another wire or tap into one. I'm guessing you probably only have one going to your seat
