Adding LED's to Ext door handles

Am I right in thinking that the Navi has small courtesy LED's in the exterior door handles? I was thinking seeing as I have 4 extra door handles because I bought 4 rust free doors for my truck I would like to add a small LED up inside so when I click the FOB to unlock it and the interior lighst go on that a small LED up inside the handle would go on as well.
I have 4 handles to play with so has anyone ever tried this?

It looks like I could drill a small hole and with glue insert it from the back of the handle until the LED bottoms out

looks pretty simple, I did some research and the LED's are readily available at radio shack and there is power in each door to tap into, also it loks like you would need to add a resistor in the positive lines to reduce the voltage a bit.

those are the LEDs i have to do this mod...mine are in green and for that price i got 50 from ebay
