Folks, the 2010 Expy rotors are warped and need to be replaced. I am thinking of getting something other then OEM to help them out of bit. They started getting bad around 30,000 miles which seems really really low to me. Unsure if it is how it is being driven, a bad set of rotors to begin with or what. So thinking of getting something that is a "little better".

Any recommendations for the owners here?

Thank you.

I have been very happy with the drilled and slotted rotors from ebay. I have put them on 4 different cars and 2 different trucks (along with ceramic pads) and have had ZERO problems. Not to mention that you can't beat the price.

I think the seller is brake parts warehouse.

Last month i replaced the front rotors and pads on my 2008 with NAPA premium. The NAPA costs a little more but comes with a lifetime warranty and is backed by all NAPA stores should I ever have an issue.

On a side note, about two weeks after the brake job, my right front caliper seized about 2 miles from the house. Once everything cooled down, I pulled the tire, caliper and reinstalled everything. Brought the truck to the dealer for a transmission issue and they replaced the caliper under warranty. Got to love the ESP. Dealer said replacement parts were fine and had nothing to do with caliper failure.

I just replaced the brakes on my wife's 08 with Brakemotive drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads. Never had a vehicle with such a dramatic before and after difference from a brake job. Found caliper pins dry and rusty. A week after the change and I have hardly any brake dust and it stops on a dime now. The previous brakes sucked. Bad.

When I called, they recommended against ceramic pads for towing. Went with Hawk pads on Power Slot rotors. I sure wish someone made a Brembo big brakes kit for my 4x4 EL.

What was their reasoning (not trying to discredit you, I am just curious)? I tow with my truck and ceramics in front, and would definitely get these pads again.

I'd keep very far away from drilled rotors unless super expensive. Removing material from rotors can weaken them and reduce their ability to handle heat. I've hated every hawk pad I've used on my cars.

With the research being done in Bernard's lifted thread on the interchangeability of the front ends between F150s and Expeditions, it wouldn't surprise me if you could use a F150 kit.
