My 6-cd changer/stereo unit, and also my dvd player as a result, is dead......
- in my 06 Exp, XLT
they cost too much to repair and the replacement is very expensive

If i buy an aftermarket,, single disc player, is there a way to hook my dvd player up to it?

thanks......

yep. Just did it this weekend in fact. You need to buy the extra harness to connect the audio from the rear dvd to the new head unit. Easy to install, just be sure that your new deck has an aux input.

FRD03-DVD is the harness you need. You had the same factory radio I had, and thats the harness I used. It worked perfectly.

Canbus radios might be the factory navigation radios. Not sure.

Here you go.
Metra 70-5520AV (705520AV) Factory DVD Retention Harness

This is the exact one I bought, from the same people I bought from.
Sonic Electronix is good to go.

You also need the proper wiring harness for the stereo if you dont have it already.

Metra 70-5521 (met-705521) Amplifier Harness for Select 2003-2005

That one.

Those 2 harnesses will let you hook up the stereo without hacking into the factory harness. How you attatch it to the new deck (soldering, push connectors, butt connectors etc) is up to you.
