I wouldnt let ANYONE who listens to rap anywhere near my engines, period
Not sure why a persons taste in music would be the deciding factor in judging their ability to tune or work on a vehicle but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Like Andy said, don’t take the bait.

Do yourself a favor and put him on ignore quick. You’ll thank me later

After a bunch of talk about this, that and the other I finally got around to removing the silencers. I also took off the inlet to the air box. We will see how it does.

Yep.
LOL
Maybe it’s just me but unlike others I felt a little more power than noise.

I would keep the snorkel. It's pulling cooler air from the fender.

I looked at the snorkel closely and there’s only like a 1/2” gap between air box and fender but it sorrounded by foam. I don’t think it will pick up much hot air. I know the opening is bigger and it will get more air though. Really I was just bored and needed something to do.

Looks like I am a little behind on this thread let's start from the beginning. I took them out of our 2016 expedition about 2 months ago. You will see a gain in turbo whistle especially with the windows down you hear them spool up really well. I did a cold start with the hood open in our garage before and then after and I can tell you after they are out the were a lot louder in the garage. Cruising around town you still won't get that crazy spool you would hear on a Cummins, Duramax, or Powerstroke. Although I did see a 1 mpg increase. Try it if you don't like it put them back in.

That power increase would be placebo. Removing those is for turbo silencer only

Nah man I’m telling you free horses. For real.
Nope. I took mine out and got nothing but more noise. All they do is silence the turbos. Research it. It’s all over the internet that these are just air silencers. 0.0% performance gain

Oh come on. Taking them out is at least as good as the EcoBeast stickers.

Yeah like I said, 0.0% performance gain. I went for looks, this air silencer delete is for sound. If it was for performance they would be called boost suppressors, not AIR SILENCERS. you silence noise, not hp

Lol true. They might restricted tiny bit of air flow but not enough to get like insane horsepower gains if you remove them.
