Hey all I have a 2016 Ford Expedition with cam phasers out shop wants 5 grand is this about right. I know Ford had problems with these and offered a extended warranty but because my VIN doesn't match the ones deemed default Ford will not cover. Told me to write Ford's Executive Board has anyone done this and how are they before I waste my time writing.

Maybe get quotes from other mechanics if Ford doesn't come through. Honestly, I think it's a long shot, but no harm in trying. The 2016 doesn't has the phaser issue that the 2018+ models have. The Gen 1 get chain issues from chain wear causing elongation. They'll probably chalk it up to normal wear.

The shop i took it to was cheaper than the rest at 3,700.00 but now on acceleration the check engine light blinks than goes off. Been trying to get back to the shop to figure out why it has 130,000 miles on it. I'm going to still write the Ford Board because this is BS.
