I’ve taken this expedition on two cross county road trips and up and down the east coast numerous tips. The vehicle now has 225k miles, runs great, no ticking or engine rattles. I’ve kept it well maintained, oil changes every 6k miles. This trip will put about 8k more on the vehicle. Should I trust someone on the road to change the oil or just wait till I’m home?

Good question. With synthetic I would probably wait, you don't want some kid to screw it up on the road, like strip the plug threads.

Bring the oil and filter with you and find somewhere that will do labor only. That's what I've done on both of my Expeditions. 95% of the time you won't have any problems. Maybe 99.9% of the times. Don't be paranoid. My local Ford dealer will do labor only as well.

I would bring that oil change interval down. You want the timing chain to last as long as possible.
