Alarm is waking up my neighbors - Solved

UPDATE: I think my problem was a moth flying around inside setting off my alarm. I'm selecting "Perimeter Only" when locking the vehicle and, just in case I forget to change this setting, I've covered the 2 ultrasonic sensors with electrical tape. Thanks for everyone's help.

My alarm is going off between 10PM and midnight. Happened 1 month ago, then it happend again the night before last and last night. It's waking up my neighbors. Nothing I can think of is setting it off, no people are around it, no shaking or movement of vehicle. Any pointers on what I can do to prevent it? I don't want to leave the vehicle unlocked, but that's the only thing I can think of at this point. Delaership and Ford Help Line was of no help. Any ideas??? TIA

Could be you have a flying visitor inside the vehicle. Do a search there are other posts on here about this.
Is there a street light where you park? Happening the same time like that, might be a moth going after the light.

I didn't see anything flying around, but it might be, I saw posts about the ultrasonic detectors. Earlier today, I placed black electrical tape over both of those.

You don't have the option to just cut on the perimeter alarm in the 24?

That's what I suggest. Shut-down to "perimeter only" and see if maybe you have a ghost in the machine cabin.

Yes, that option comes up when shutting off the vehicle. I'm doing that, but the tape over the sensors is when I forget to select perimeter only.

If it was me, I would do a super clean of the interior and go back to normal operations.

And I actually cut the interior lights off so they don't come on at night when you open doors just for this reason.

Good idea! Since putting the tape on the sensors, and setting perimeter only, its been fine. It was likely a moth fluttering around inside.

As a bird hunter this is a constant problem early in the season before a few freezes take care of the flying insects. We will typically drive through the woods with the windows down, then lock the trucks up with us and the dogs out hunting. Mosquitos (big humming bird size northern variety) and deer fly's will set them off. So, we always turn off the internal sensors out of habit, now. We always had to do it when leaving the dogs in the kennels inside when getting lunch, anyway.

One friend with a Toyota, had a mouse inside that would set it off. He never figured out how to turn off the inside sensors; so, he bought a Ford.

This exact thing happened to me last week. It went off six times and said it was an intrusion alarm. Went out at midnight and started the car with door open and inside lights were on. A moth came flying up to the light. I finally got it out and all is well. After trying to close all the doors over and rear hatch I was at a loss. So learning that I have the option to just set the perimeter alarm and not all sensors at exit of the vehicle is an option. I’ll be prepared for the next time.

It was so hot, I'm sure the flying insect got in from the 4 windows being down about 1/2" for venting.
