Hi all,

I have been following this forum since buying my 2000 Expy in September. Awesome and useful info!

I have been working to replace my Amp and subwoofer, and having removed both found that I couldn't get it started the next day:confused:

I did not disconnect the battery while working on this and have punished myself for this;)

SO, I am getting flicking gauges and no cranking, although the radio still works.

I will try checking fuses tonight. I have reinstalled the amp with no change.

Are there any grounds behind the sub box I may have disturbed in the process?

Thanks for all responses friends:)

Life is good or about to get worse:)

Thanks for the reply Corlon. Funny thing is that I have worked on my Windstar many times and had the 45 minutes pass and the lights go out to save power. Occasionally I would have this happen a couple of times and it would still start.

But, I did this twice on the Expedition (1:30 total) and the truck would not start. I charged the battery for 5 hours and believing the problem was a short I didn't bother trying it. After Corlon's reply I thought what the hell, maybe. And it started right up which shows that the Expeditions extra lights allowed the battery to run down. So, next time I will unhook the battery ground and keep it charged.

Thanks Corlon for reminding me that the great electrical truth, "It's always the battery" is often true!

Either that or it is an intermittant short;):D
