Hey Everyone, I'm new here and love all the information that I have at my fingertips.

I was wondering if anyone has played with some of the Android Phone/Tablet apps that have OBD II programing capibilities. I was looking into getting something like the Egde CTS, but honestly, right now dropping $670.00 on one is a little too out of my range when a OBD II bluetooth dongle is only $70, and there is multiple apps out there.

Has anyone done a back to back comparison? Is it really worth paying an extra $600.00 for an edge?

Thanks.

I'm afraid you'd probably be the first one to try this. I can almost guarantee you that you won't get even close to the results that you would with the Edge, and you'd have to try long and hard to find an app that would actually work. Because all of those apps that are in the android market advertising "OBDII" scanning/programming options are probably just full of crap...

Hmm.. I have and Ipod ouch also... I could always get an app for that platform too... Just a thought.

And I thought having a 10 Tablet mounted in the Double Din radio space, running radio, GPS, OBD II programs, and what not, would look quite awesome.

Thanks for the input!

I'll have to do more research on the Android/IOS side, but looks like I'll be saving my Pennies for the Edge. I'll Just have to do a custom mount for the Edge beside the Tablet I want to install in place of the radio.
