I have a 07 eddy xl, I need power to the mirror and then tap backup light to power mirror when in reverse. I ran everything on the driver side and now have no idea what wire to tap for anything. Perhaps it was because my truck was so tall, but shortly after I installed my back up camera, I decided to rewire it so that it was always on. It really helped me keep track of what was going on back there. Because my mirror monitor had a remote, I could turn it off if I wanted to. Part of the problem with using it as a backup camera, is that the camera took a few seconds to 'warm up' every time I put it in reverse. (and I'm impatient).

So I tapped into the rear view mirror and uppers the monitor works when you put it in reverse and goes off when out of reverse!! My only dilemma is do I run power to the camera from the rear wiper motor and hatch to stay on all the time or tap rev light?????

that would depend on your choice Keep this in mind how long does it take for you to have a clear picture when the camera powers up or when the monitor powers up Is the any delay in the picture warming up?
