Looking into buying new wheels and tires. Would like to go with 22s or 24s. My question is, what size tire has anyone ran with no issues? The 22s would be 22x9.5 et+30, and I'm thinking a 285/50r22 nitto terra grappler G2. Those are 33.2 by 11.6 wide. I like this option because more sidewall, less likely to curb a wheel.

The 24s would be 24x10, some wheels are +30 and others are +35 on the offset. This setup I'm thinking the nitto terra grappler in either a 285/40r24, which is 32.9x11. Or the same tire in size 305/35r24, which is 32.5x12.1 wide.

Anyone here ran any setup like these? Or similar. Not looking to lift, would like to stay at stock height. Just looking for some input. Thanks fellas.

Love this setup by Ferrada wheels. But they didnt know the size of tire. f136464fbe2ebfba276a6d2c31ada3b4.jpg376c15f616b5874637213aff2e329d39.jpg

Surely someone here has experience with aftermarket 22s or 24s.

I know 305/45r22 fit on stock height and stock rims (+44 backspace) with no trimming and ever so slightly rubbing at full wheel crank in reverse on the last gen Expys. Your gen has the same backspace and I would expect probably very similar fitment. I would expect you would fit either size wheel no issues. If you go look at custom offsets in the gallery there is a 22x9.5 on 285/50 with stock ride height +30 wheels. Link below

from the research I did, the 285/50/22 nittos are about the only choice to go slightly larger without lifting or running the risk of rubbing. problem is, they're about $450 each...which is pretty pricey. I think I'll bit the bullet for 20" rims at some point and know i'll save in the long run on tires each time i go for replacement.

You can find Fuel Gripper AT All Terrains as well. They actually are a pretty decent tire. But yes you are very limited in the 285/50/22 size range. 305/45/22 has many more options.

Finally pulled the trigger on a set of 24x10 Vossens. Love the look of the aggressive tires too. Went with Nitto terra grappler, 305/35r24. Cloudy day here in KC, so the pictures arent the best. 00a011e1fbe9c1275cb56695e6b1ea57.jpgdeff8f94949f4714c568fe79f6ddbb4d.jpgad1dd90c7440a140baa8b82ea71152a9.jpg

Not much room to air down. Are you going to run them off road at full pressure?

Slightly off subject, but I was a little surprised at the torque specs for the Expy lug nuts. 150 lb-ft seems like a lot, but that's what the book calls for.

Here’s some info on offset vs backspacing for you... they do not have 44 backspacing. +44 offset. There’s a difference

Chris, can you send pics head on and from the back? I'm interested in the in look/stance with wider tires. IMO the Expy could look 'tougher' and more broad when looking at the rear and less narrow.

Thanks.

Hope these help. If not, let me know and I can try other angles. I love the stance. The paperwork said +25 on the offset. The tires barely stick out past the top side of the fenders. The only thing I might do later down the road, would be lower the suspension. 5a9abd939b08d81eef85a4e530e585fc.jpgb982b3c7b1d9207ed1cceb9bb584f26b.jpg

Well at least you think it looks good I guess since you have to drive it. Surprised it has ATs for a pavement princess...

I’m more surprised they make that type of tire with that short a sidewall.

Seems weird to listen to all that off-road tire noise for a road vehicle. Moreso when the tires get some miles on them....

Yeah exactly what I was thinking. They start wearing and get louder
