I would like to disable the chime that sounds when a door is opened while the key is in the ignition. I have read on an F150 board about cutting a wire under the steering column or removing the speaker behind the dash. Has anyone tried either of these on an Expedition? I have a 2010.

hmmmm. In all my fords, there is not a speaker. But a little pack of what looks like 4 quarters stacked. Generally they are inside a black box.

Not sure on the new expys tho.....?

Turn off the chime using the ignition?

While doing weekly major inspection, I want to listen to the radio with doors open.
Is there not a sequence which allows the doors to be open and radio on without the door chime sounding forever?

I want to keep the chime functioning in case I need its reminder.

Thank you.

I believe there is only a sequence to disable the seat belt chime. I have done that already. I'm still trying to confirm the correct wire to disable the door chime.
