I don’t have an answer and will be following this thread.

When I ordered my 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4, the salesperson stated that I could not order 4x4 skid plates or an engine block heater - as they were only available on a fleet order.

I wonder many people would order the skids plates on the 4x4 models, if they were an option at any trim level.

Seems odd and Ford is missing an option sale, and irritating the customer.

I’m surprised Ford doesn’t offer the skids plates, with fasteners, as an accessory item.

For 2007-2014 Expeditions there was an “off-road package” which included metal step bars and skid plates. Those options were not available on 15-17 expys. I also don’t think those parts would fit since we have a different chassis on our 07-14 trucks.

If 15-17 SSVs came with skid plates like the 07-14s that’s your best bet. My search for oem skid plates only turns up fitting on 07-14 vehicles.

The link I posted clearly indicates the SSV package includes front, transfer case, and fuel skid plates.
So that means it has a part number.
I’ll run by one of the dealerships tomorrow and see what they can find.
I don’t see why they would not want to sell me a part and make some money.

Swung by the dealer and he is having some difficulty locating that skid plate.
Everything he comes up with sends him a plate of some sort that is in the rear.

Apparently the 7E063 is Fords designation dealing with transfer case parts and accessories. I have been under my Expedition a few times and don’t recognize that plate so I’ll crawl under there when I get home from work.

He came up with the 2018 part with no issue.

I left without the full part number for the plate in the first illustration.
He is going to keep looking and let me know what he finds.
I am a bit curious as to what the differences are for the 18 plate.
I am guessing mounting holes but not sure.

I had the "off road" option on my '07. Skid plate took some hits and I never really drove off-road. The step bars were rust magnets during Ohio winters. Would be interested in the part numbers for the '17 (but not the step bars!).

No off road package per se for the 15-17s
The SSV adds the transfer case and fuel tank skids
Front and Transmission skids I will be going with RCI Metal works.
Hopefully the Ford transfer case skid plate (if we can ever locate it).
Ford skids for the fuel tank.

The Ford T case seems a little thin and the fuel skid is heavy plastic.
I plan on coating them in Raptor Liner for rust protection but also add some ridgity.

My unknown skid plate came in.
FL1Z-7E063-A
It looks nothing like the picture that was given to me and posted above given to me by the parts guy.
This is the only skid plate he can locate for the SSV aside from the fuel tank skids.
From the picture above this seems to be some sort of rear sway bar skid plate. It is pretty large and a whole lot more solid than I was expecting.
It cost me a whole $13

I have been under the truck a handful of times and don’t remember seeing this plate.
Hopefully weather stays decent and I can slide underneath tonight and see what I can find.

I got about 10 minutes under the truck before darkness hit and the munchkins arrived home so I just had to crawl under without lifting it at all.

I could not find the plate or where it may even bolt up to.

There is a similar plate/heat shield above the muffler but it is not the same.
