Anyone using the Scan Gauge 3 by Linear Logic in a Gen 1 Expedition???

Looking to possibly get some type of scan tool that comes with a small screen to read additional information on my Expedition. Mainly looking for engine temp, trans temp and air fuel ratio but other monitored parameters but great. Currently looking at the Scan Gauge 3 by Linear Logic.

Any experiences (good, bad or neutral) would be appreciated. Also any other products to look at? I really like the compact display and only having to plug it into the ODBII port.

I have the Scan Gauge lll.....have had it for years now and have transferred it from several vehicles over the years.....currently in the 2019 Expy.
Very easy to program and verry accurate. My primary concern is coolant and trans fluid temps. Tach and speed gauges are also accurate and almost number to number with the vehicles gauges.
Just my opinion, there is nothing better....

I have a ScanGauge II with "X Gauge". Works fine on my 2001 Expy 4.6L and 2013 5.4 3V. Also on a 2007 SantaFe with 3.3 L. It connects and programs easily. The X Gauge is a bit complex in the II in that you must enter a long string of values into an address. I use for Mode 6 specifically for misfire counts. The ScanGauge III I believe simplifies the X Gauge setup immensely. I am seriously thinking of upgrading as my SG II's (I have two of them) are suffering from Florida LCD sunburn after decades. Good product and support. They offered to fix my old ones for just mailing them in.

Check their website for compatibility and if not listed for 2026 yet, give them a call. I am sure it would be compatible.

Early on I had a SG ll. The lll is much more user friendly...very easy to set up....like going from a flip phone to an I-Phone as far as capability.

If you have an iPhone or iPad and a compatible scanner, FORScan Lite will read those and a lot more. Picture is of some of the transmission PID's that can be monitored.

Do they have a window to show what gear you are in? I read they display ratios, but it would be nice to simply see which gear is engaged. I have a 2013 with 6R80 (and tow mode) and it is hard to tell by ear.

Yes there are 3 pages od data available depending on how your gauge is configured.
No there is no gauge to indicate the gear you are in.
Go to their online site.....there will be a list of what gauges are available for your particular vehicle......all dependent on what your vehicles pcm provides.
Mine is in my 2019 Expy but the SG lll will provide info for whatever info your pcm is able to send it.
