Are 4.56's too much

I have an 07 EL with a 3/2 and 33's on 18" rims. The truck seems soo sluggish and I found a great deal on the 4.56's. What are your opinions.

Do a quick search for gear and tire calculators, there are tons of them on the web. You put in your stock gears, tire size and the new gears and it will tell you what rpms you will be at on the highway.

Look on the bright side, if the gears are too low, what better excuse to get bigger tires!

might be a tad high... usually 4.56s go with 35s... but with 33s will be awesome in the city but high rpms on the highway

agreed. you will take off out of the hole like a bandit but gonna lose MPG on the highway. i would stick with stock or go with 4.10, if you dont plan on going up in tire size. if you have 3.55, 3.73 might do it but not gonna be cheap.

im running a 4.10 on a 28 inch tire (mustang) on the highway at 70 mph im taching 3200rpms. you can literally watch the gas gauge drop. i wouldnt go 4.56s unless you get a taller tire

thanks guys;) well does anyone have experience with motive gears, I remember from my mustang days that people said they were noisy and to just stick with FRP gears.

I like my idea better. Put in the 4.56s and then explain to the little woman that you 'need' to get 37" tall tires.

:D I wish but the problem is that there is not a bigger lift than a 3/2 for this year expi bc of the rear suspension:confused:
