Was the original post about the chamfered edges of the pads? If so, yes normal. Can't say all pads have that but quite normal. Chamfered edges in the long dimension of the pad in the wear material.

It's so hard to figure out what a lot of the questions are on a Forum! I think there is a lot of miscommunication, just like in the rest of life ...

I have changed a ton of brakes and yet to come across a pad of this design that has such a drastic taper.
May also be the angle looking between the spokes making it more pronounced as well.
I have yet to have the wheel off.

Still debating EBC or Baer for the fronts.
Rears I am not sure there is a justification in price to do anything above NAPA premium.

Have you compared the EBC with Motorcraft? The Motorcraft brakes aren't that quick-stopping but are smooth, don't fade and don't warp. The EBC's are cheaper. Have you found them to be any better?
