Hey guys
Just got a 2019 XLT max 202a the other day. I didn’t realize it didn’t have auto dim mirrors and was wondering a few things.
The inside rear view has a dot in the top middle that would be a light sensor, and the side mirrors have lines close to the edges that would outline the edge of the auto dim section. They are BLIS mirrors, heated with auto fold. Is this the same as other trims?

I’ve searched for this, and F150 forums indicate this option was cut on the 18+ f150 XLT, but in some cases the side mirrors are plug n play upgrades with older mirrors. Anyone know of any options out there that would work for me?

Drivers side mirror should be auto dim. See page 20. https://www.ford.com/services/assets/Brochure?make=Ford&model=Expedition&year=2019

Inside rear view is supposed to be auto dimming also.
I always hated that feature on my 05 Suburban, and glad my 17 xlt dont have it. It was simple enough to deactivate on the Chevy but I just think the dimming is not needed. Especially if you tint the windows, then the drivers mirror was useless.

my inside auto dim mirror never worked correctly from day 1. The ford service dept said they checked and it worked. I have to block the sensor on back of mirror with my finger and it will darken but the next time it won't. Another useless electronic gadget, I going to replace it with a manual flip mirror

So I got my mirrors to dim on the freeway tonight, once I cleaned the back window it finally saw the headlights behind me... then in local traffic I couldn’t get them to dim.

They will auto dim if the idiot behind you has high beams on. Normal headlights are not bright enough and are aimed lower.
