Awd question

I got a 99 ford expedition with awd,4hi,4lo.

My question is does anyone know how to check if the 4wd is disengaging?

When I jack up the front and try to turn the drive shaft ( switch is in the AWD) i can't turn it. if I turn one wheel the other goes int he opposite direction. Is this normal or is it stuck in 4wd?


any sugestions?

sounds like your 4wd is engaged....i beleive a good test is to go to the fuse panel under the hood,pull fuse 104 and try it then,fuse 104 is supposed to control the awd motor on the front diff. hope this helps or at least leads you in the right direction
