I was on the freeway when I felt like I had been shot at but there was no one around me. I got out of my vehicle and saw nothing on my car so I kept on to work and a week later I am hearing a whistle and voila… roll back the sunroof and find this..

The crack is right under the bar and you can’t see anywhere where there might be impact.

I have the CNA warranty but I’m guessing I’m going to have to eat this.

Another reason we pay extra for zero-deductible glass coverage on our auto insurance. Our latest windshield replacement came to $1,000 counting replacement glass, install and camera calibration.

A rock hit that same panel of mine and cracked it. I replaced it myself and the glass alone was $950. It’s a pain to replace as you have to drop the headliner. Also another fun note is the Ford replacement glass isn’t tinted as dark as what was in it from the factory so my panels don’t match now.

Same. I pay the extra for full glass coverage. I had a Flex where the glass roof cracked similar to this and it was covered 100%.

Exactly… I’ve got the zero deductible glass policy here in Arizona. So many rocks on the road. The wife is on her third windshield. I’m on my second. I work out of town; only have these issues when I’m back in Arizona.

You don’t need to calibrate the camera if OEM glass is used.

Which is why getting glass from my local dealer was roughly $600 less than Safelite, but it took almost three weeks to get the windshield, and the hastle of getting it done at the dealer. Had to leave it since they outsource it, then it ended up having to stay overnight because the glass guy was out sick. But to meet that's worth $600, even if insurance was covering it.
