My back up lights aren't working on my '03 EB 5.4L. We just got the truck a couple of months back so I'm not sure if they've even worked since we got it. I've checked the bulbs and they look fine.

The owner's manual in the section on fuses/relays says R301 for the backup lights. That isn't in the fuse box, so I assume it's the actual backup light switch, probably on the transmission somewhere. Anyone know where, exactly?

Any pointers as to what to look for would be helpful, thanks.

The backup relay is behind the right kickpanel. The only thing on the tranny is the drive selector which is prob fine. Check that relay.

In the EVTM it says the the fuse is #1.14, which is a 10 amp. It is in the central junction box (the one inside the truck). The power then goes to the manual level position sensor then to different things. If your truck has back up sensors and they work, then your fuse and MLP sensor are most likey ok.
On early productions the reverse lamps are running thru the trailer relay and fuse#1.10, also in the central junction box. I dont know when the production slpit is for build dates. If that does not fix it it starts to get into tracing out wiring.
Hope this is helpful.

SPOT ON! It was the #1.10 (#10) fuse, 20 amps...blown. Replaced that and the bckup lights work fine now. Thanks!

The truck does have back up sensors by the way.
