Battery cable

2008 Expedition. Truck won't start without jumping . Battery is good. My daughter's significant other crawled under the truck and the cable is corroded at the starter connection. White corrosion on the cable. A new cable OEN is over $400! Has anyone spliced a new cable end onto the OEM and then sealed it with
Plastic Dip? What size is the old cable end, 4or 2?

$320 at Tasca Parts. I'm sure you can make one, unless there's enough wire to crimp on a new end connector. Sorry, I don't know the cable size.

If you're going to splice one in, definitely don't seal with Plastidip. Get some appropriately sized heat-shrink tubing.
