Hey Expedition Forum, what's up? First time post for me in here, thanks for any responses to my questions... I am looking for any suggestions on what to look for.
First off, the vehicle I am working on is a 2002 Expy Eddie Bauer edition. It is my friends vehicle, and I am at my wits end. I am a Ford guy by nature, and have worked on many F150's, so very similar....
Here is the issue: If the truck gets parked for two days or more, the battery drains out. If you run it everyday, it is fine.
Here are the symptoms:
1. After turning key off, radio stays on, even when ANY of the doors open. (It does turn off after awhile, like if you forget to turn your lights off)
2. Dome lights do not turn on when ANY door is opened.
3. The Door AJAR light NEVER comes on with any of the doors.
4. The Power windows still operate even with the key removed. (Is that normal? My F150's don't work with the key in)
Here is what I've checked.
1. I've checked the rear wiper issue, yes it is locked up, but we currently have the fuse pulled so as to rule that out, and the problem is still there.
2. I have checked all other fuses.
3. I have also checked the accessory relay.
4. I looked under each door entry panel for any suspicious wiring issues, everything looks pretty clean.
5. When the key goes from ACC to OFF, the dome lights DO turn on. They stay on until the circuit times out. Shutting the door does nothing.
So, I'm assuming that there is SOMETHING wrong with the door sensor circuit. I have greased all the door latches thinking that may be the problem, but all of them can't be bad...I should get a door AJAR light when any of the doors open, but I don't get that for any of them.
Are all of the sensors wired together somewhere with a single lead from the PCM, or how is that wired?
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! THANK YOU!
