What can you refill your battery with? Have seen distilled water in an old tractor a long time ago, can I still do that?

How old is the battery Also check the voltage at the battery with engine at about 1500-2000 RPM's to see if your over-charging the battery Being your in Georgia it could also be due to the hotter temps.

Switch to maintenance free batteries. One with a longer warranty period.

Maintenance free batteries are a good option when replacing a bad battery but not just because of having to add distilled water to a regular wet cell battery type.
One advantage we have noticed with them is the lack of corrosion on the battery terminals from out gassing during charging. Plus not having to check the electrolyte level is a benefit.
