We bought our truck in February of 2018. a fully loaded Platinum with 4wd, tow, buckets, and RSE. I cant think of one option we didnt get. We have put 32,000 miles in that first year. Couldnt have been happier. Not an issue whatsoever. Until...........

Over the last couple of months we started getting the mirror problem. I wasnt worried about it and was going to wait until i saw some folk here get some resolutions.

around that same time, the passenger side headrest monitor started freaking out. sometimes it wont turn on/off, sometimes it shows weird screen anomalies, etc. again, i wasnt terribly worried about it. it should be a very easy swap for a new one.

fast forward to the last month. while driving, the interior lights are flashing, i hear a relay activating in the wireless charger compartment, we get some type of error regarding the front camera, airbag indicator on dash, and low brake fluid warning. all pretty worrisome items.

this past weekend we stopped to eat after my daughters conference championship game. we came back out to the truck and when we unlocked, the running boards did not deploy and only one mirror unfolded. when we got in, it was completely unresponsive. would not start, would not remote start, no lights came on inside, no dash, display, etc. completely unresponsive. my wife opened her door and when she shut it, the truck suddenly came to life!!!!!

ill have to say, im a little worried. i wish it would be ANYTHING else other than electrical gremlins. Sadly it will be a minute before i can take it. after reading Atticus' reviews, I may take to Athens.

Will keep everyone informed.

Did you try "cntrl-alt-del"? That seems to fix most stuff.

(I'm kidding. And in all seriousness, that sucks to hear. Good luck and we do appreciate the updates.

Knowing that yours and mine were built on the same day (or very close thereto) makes me more than a little nervous. I am at 14k miles so I'm anxious to hear how this all goes for you.)

One fairly common cause of multiple electrical gremlins showing up like that (whether on a car or in an RV, etc.) is a faulty electrical ground connection/cable somewhere. If you want to mess with it any before taking to a dealer, you might want to snoop around the major ground connections.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear your SUV got a Gem module installed from a first edition one like my 2000, and it got soaked. Just for kicks and giggles plug into your data port, see what pops up. I'd also record Everytime one of the ghosts pops up. I guarantee you your dealerships going to say all is normal, we couldn't duplicate one of those problems. Then you show him/her your phone, and say oh really! Get a load of this!

I'm willing to bet it's a faulty battery. Yes I now it's too new to fail but shit happens. They can cause some super odd issues.

We’ve got a 301 Limited with the RSE. Got 4000m on it. We’ve already had many of the same problems. Passenger mirror popping, passenger monitor freaking out and not responding, front camera needs cleaning (not installed). We live in small town and our dealership only has one electrical tech. They want the car for a few days to troubleshoot...but won’t give us loaner. Kinda of upsetting after spending this kind of money on a vehicle.

I'd try this! Disconnect the negative terminal of your battery, leave disconnected for say, a minute or so, then reconnect. I've corrected minor electrical gremlins (remote start, back hatch unresponsive and windows that didn't respond) on two different Expeditions this way. It's rare, but sometimes the electronics just need rebooting.

We bought from a large dealership 2.5 hrs away, and our local dealership at first wanted us to take it there for warranty work. Obviously that isn’t going to happen, my next step is going to be to talk to the service dept manager, followed by Ford. In the mean time I’ll try the ctrl alt del, have nothing to loose. I’ll also start video tapping the anomalies, so I they can’t use the “couldn’t duplicate” excuse.

Dealer should not care where you purchased from. They make money on service, even warrenty service.

I know no Gem Stamp, was just funning. That's a first I've heard of a dealer telling you to go back where you bought it. That's just sour grapes on their part. If they would have matched the price, or sales niceness, I'm sure you'd have bought it there.

Extremely curious to know if the battery replacement actually solves all of those issues.

If it is the battery, does that mean all of that stuff is simply related to low voltage? And, if so, why would any problems happen while the vehicle is running?
