Many come to forums to solve or question a problem or issues.

I`m here to get my Expy the way I need it to be, I searched high and low for a good price and the color and features I wanted in my used expedition and I have a laundry list of things that have happend.

Blown #3 Plug (Check)
Head gasket causing oil leak (Check)
Hard Shifting Trans between 1-2 (Check)
Cracked injectors (Check)
Coil Missfires (Check)
Restarts hard on a hot day (Check)
Leaky windshield causeing many electrical problems (Check)

All that in only 30,000 miles. So I figure if i get all of it fixed its better to keep this one than find one that could do all this stuff again lol

The thing is, I dont know why but I still love my EXPY, consistant good MPGs if I drive it nice. Pulls trailers great, hauls my dogs and kids, gets me around in the winter.

Are you asking if all that stuff is worth fixing? If so, then it would be worth it if you do the labor, but if you are paying a shop to do it then you might be better off buying a new Expy and selling your current one. That is a long list of stuff to fix and none of it will be cheap if you aren't doing your own labor. It will still be very pricey to do all of that just for the parts, especially if your trans is shot. You are looking at $2000+ just in parts if you need a new tranny. Good luck getting everything taken care of.

If you just want to be done find a doner 99 with a 5.4 and swap the engine and tranny and it will probably cost less then whats going on now

Very true, it will be your best option.

I must be lucky so far, I have had very littletrouble from my X, even at 201k. Did my brakes, replaces several old vacuum hoses and installed a new alternator. I do need a new battery, mine is week and several years old, but all is well so far.

All that stuff has happened and ben fixed except the leaky windshield. I had the the leaky gasket and blown plug repaird. I fixed all the missfires and cracked injectors on my own.

I will have the windshield replaced but I will take the gem out and replace or fix the corrosion on my own as well. I do the work I can, a $5500 vehical isnt worth having a to spend a ton of money on at a shop.

The head gasket was $1350 or so to repair and the Blown plug was just over $500

What I was getting at was seeing how many others have a laundry list of common issues and if those issues brought you here searching for answers or if just being an enthusiast brought you here.

I think it's abit of both problems and enthusiast. I think that was me  ....but that was before " THEY FORCED " me to modify my truck or not play here anymore!!! :flamingdevil: I 've had blown plugs, leaking moonroof, etc..
Just stick with it...it's worth it!
