I have a 07 expy that clicks behind the radio when I lower the temp on the passenger side only. If it was the actuator would it click for both sides? I have seen many posts about replacing the actuator thru the radio but I haven't seen any on replacing the blend door. How would I go about replacing the blend door?

Just a clicking noise should mean you have a bad actuator or the door is stuck. The door could be broken our something could have got stuck between the door and the port. The clicking noise happens when the load is too great for the motor. I don't know if you can, but have you tried to recalibrate it?

Can you hear it moving at all before it clicks? Like slowly move the temp knob.

Replacing the blend door can be easy if they made a kit for it. It only took a few hours to fix my grand cherokee. It'll be an aftermarket kit.sucks if you have to pull the dash.

If its off its because some teeth broke off the gears and there is no fixing that. Have to get a new actuator. 35 bucks at the parts store.

Had this problem with the rear vent/floor actuator on my 05. Just made it open to the vents and unplugged it!

How would I recalibrate it?

I tried to look it up. Couldn't really find anything. I could recalibrate my grand cherokee by pushing a few buttons and turning the knob. I think disconnecting and reconnecting the battery will cause it to recalibrate too. Or just pull the fuse for it maybe.

I bought mine at the dealer pretty cheap, 35-40 bucks. Took me under half hour to change it out, total time for everything involved; its right behind the stereo. There are write ups here with pics that helped me. Mine is a 07 as well, my passenger side wasn't working. Works good now!

was yours passenger or drivers side that you changed it out for? My grand cherokees passenger side actuator was the back one and the whole dash would have had to come out (it was the blend doors and there was a kit for it so I ended up not having to).

I could only see that one. I've heard there are others where you have to disassemble the whole dash. I figured I would try out the one that I could easily change and see what happens and it worked out. I'm pretty sure though that the main one behind the stereo that I changed out is the one that gets used the most and thus, is usually the broken one. Good luck!

Thanks ezeq I fixed mine today with the help of your link. It's a really easy fix, it took me about 2.5 hours. It only took that long because it took my local dealer 1.5 hours to get the part.
