Both break lights out at the same time

Had an issue the other day where both my brake lights were out but running lights were light up after testing the sockets having power at both ends fuse box and at socket. Talked to a friend he said the brake switch changed that problem solved. Just make sure you turn it all the way till it clicks..

Was the high stop light also out? or just the 2 tail lights?
