Picked this up from the original owner. Been in AZ all its life, well maintained, has 160k and a Propane conversion! I love this thing. It's going to be more useful than my "sweet" Windstar that I have as I can tow with this [emoji23]

The air suspension "works" PO replaced all the air shocks and what he would do is let the truck air up and then shut off the switch for the suspension system so the compressor didn't constantly run. If I leave it on, the compressor likes to run every few seconds (never seems to sag) after about 20 minutes of driving the little "ck susp" light comes on. Only code I've pulled on it was a c1725. Waiting on my service manuals so I can do some more diag and figure out what the issue is. The height sensor is still connected as it should be so who knows....I'm not converting it though as I like the set up.

I think at one point I may swap a lightning SC setup over to this, but right now I may swap mufflers and look into a tune from 5star.

Looks brand new. I had to replace the rear subframe and the radiator support in mine, but I use to launch my boat, sooo... . Not to mention intake manifold gasket, both exhaust manifolds, and two tranny rebuilds (the last one was an upgrade to heavy duty insides). I also did a redneck repair on the rocker panels (screwed in the new ones). However, I've had it for 10 years, and bought it for $6,200, so I'm not complaining. Even with all of the money invested, it still comes up to $800 in repairs per year - a lot less than payments for a newer car.

Wow! Looks like mine except your paint looks much cleaner! My hood is faded and the clearcoat is shot on the driver side. Yours looks new and very well maintained.

Saweet! This gen is the best gen Ford truck and that includes f150’s.

These 5.4 2v don’t get the engine rattle.

Don’t need a catch can.

Don’t suffer cam phaser/chain guide failures.

And mine never coughed up a spark plug ( knocking on wood here).

I’m now driving 700-1000 miles per week for work and at 217,*** there’s no question I’ll get 300k w original everything (except alternator, battery, muffler, brakes, various suspension parts, drivers side window regulator).

Too bad Ford screwed up and went w the ecoboost after 2014.

For shyts and grins read the f150 forum on 3.5 ecoboost f150’s. Every time I think about getting another truck I read that forum.

Most times I never pay attention to what other people are saying about the ecoboost, because I like them and anyone I know that has one loves them.

I went with the 1st gen because of the simplicity and 2v's are tanks. ALMOST went with a 2nd gen with the 2v but I stuck it out with my search for a good 1st gen mostly because it just seems more heavy duty with the 4r100 IMO

I know you gotta tq the plugs to like 23 ft lbs and you should be ok and you won't have to worry about it launching into the hood [emoji23]

I'm putting together a parts list soon, so I can rebuild the front end, get it aligned and I'll probably buy some tires before the AZ summer hits.

I recently had ceramic tint installed on the Expedition as I want the interior to last along time.20201231_122022.jpg

Good looking 1st gen. I liked mine, but I think I like my 3rd gen more. Each have their ups and downs.

I recommend a Covercraft windshield sunscreen. Had one for my 1st gen and now have one for my 3rd gen. Little bulky when not in use, but completely block the sun when deployed.

How did you replace the radiator support?

I bought the silver shield one from dash designs here in AZ. It fits great, but probably like the covercraft...a bit bulky when put away but it's WORTH IT.

I need to finish the clutch job on my Geo and then ill start ordering the front end parts...even though she's been taken care of the front end still needs to be rebuilt. Looks like a fun time but I need to do it before I buy new tires. After that's all fixed and realigned ill start looking more into my c1725 code that pops up after 20 min of driving with the air suspension. I think the compressor is starting to die or maybe a small leak, seems to lift kind of slowly, although not sure how fast it's supposed to lift and the compressor is pretty noisy inside the cabin (which maybe it just needs new mounts for it)

Sure do wish our 2000 Eddie Bauer had paint that nice, heck half that nice would be an improvement. Ours is mechanically great at 170k miles, but the paint is shot, which now that we're going to sell it is a problem. <sigh>

Finished up my CB install. Just using a Cobra 75 wx St. Nice and compact. Still need to tune the antenna again.

Also when I was underneath the expedition today I noticed the passenger torsion bar bolt was screwed all the way In.... probably what's causing the air suspension issues. I'll deal with it after I rebuild the front end.25ac1d3bdbef826ba3ca715270e6581a.jpg72ff58a06250ab9687a270ada6d2c175.jpg
