Bought a 2008, one key...one fob...no manual.

So, I called the local dealership, and getting the keyless entry code on my 2008 XLT is basically akin to extortion. Is there any other Ford service for getting that? I really do love this truck (ex-gov vehicle, stripped interior, column shift, may try and upgrade interior bits), but my dealership is one that I do NOT want to deal with.

There are many posts on this forum on how to find the original factory code for keyless entry feature. Do a search.

I tried that...my ECU's sticker does not have that code in the corner. It's beyond maddening, I figure an aftermarket unit got installed at some point.

Because it is there.

Do you have a laptop and ForScan software ? The security module will probably show up in there and you can retrieve the door code. You can also program new keys and FOBs easily with ForScan. Regardless of how many keys you have in your possession.

Yep, I re-checked a few times...usually with the video playing so I could be certain where to look on the sticker.
