Hey guys, getting ready to do a brake job on the rig. Does anyone know what tool i need for the caliper? Is it an allen wrench or Torx and size? Thanks for the information, nothing worse than getting the wheels off and then realizing you don't have the correct tool. Thank you!

On my 97 it looks almost like a female spline but I used an allen hex key and it worked fine. Thats to disassemble the caliper. To just remove it I used a 21mm if memory serves.

Mine had both Allen and torx fasteners for the caliper bolts. I couldn't tell which ones were stock.

Mine was a torx bit size T45., an allen will work, i believe it's either a 6mm, or a 1/4 standard

if you're doing discs make sure you rent a puller, those rotars , on the front especially - are a royal pain to get off. you can use some long treaded bolts and nuts with open end wrenches as well.

other than that. like the other guys said.. It's fairly easy, and you shouldnt have nay problems. Just be careful not to strip those bolts!

Im pretty sure i used a torx T47, 18mm socket and Im positive a 8mm socket but thats when I replaced the hub assembly along with the brakes.
