I have noticed on and off for about a week that the brake pedal on my 2000 expedition is bleeding down. I only notice it while sitting in a line and having to apply pressure to the pedal for a long period of time. It will bleed down all the way to the floor. I have no indicator lights that have come on. Any suggestions? Thx

I changed brake pads about 6 months ago. I also just replaced the pcv valve because I thought that maybe I had a vacuum leak. I cannot find any leaks. The pedal still bleeds down after about 1 minute of applied pressure. It also does not matter if the the vehicle is in park or in gear as it still leaks down.

i wonder if maybe you have a bad cover for the fluid resevoir, or your master cylinder may be going out.

unbolt and remove the mater cylinder from the booster and see if it is wet inside the booster/ if so the master is bad

Either the fluid needs to be changed, or the master cylinder is going bad.
