I have a '98 Expedition. Some time ago the brakes started acting funny. By funny I mean that from time to time, when you would step on the brakes the ABS would kick in even though it shouldn't. This could occur several times during a drive and then it would stop doing this and act normal for days, maybe even weeks.
I took it to the dealership as they told me that they could diagnose the problem. They told me, after the test, that it was either the ABS module or pump, but more testing would have to be preformed before they could tell for sure. They went on to tell me the costs based on the two possible problems. I was suprised to find out how costly it would be to have the problem found and fixed.
Does anyone have knowledge about this problem and, if so, do you have any recommended solution that won't cost me an arm and a leg?
