I searched and couldn't find anything related to this. I had the Electronic Brake Boost Recall done on my Expedition because the vehicle randomly starting applying brakes and it would lose power. took it to the dealership and issue went away for a few days then it started happening again where a warning would come up and say "Brakes Applied Power reduced". We took it back to the dealership and after some trouble shooting they replaced the brake pedal assembly. it was in the shop for a month and a half for that due to parts availability. got it back and about a week after we got it back it did it again. We took it back in and they couldn't duplicate the issue got it back after a week and then it started again. The dealership says they can't do anything if they can't duplicate the problem.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so are you still having it? What was the fix so I can assist the dealership in getting my vehicle fixed?

Thank you

HI True Blue:

Our 2024 Expy has NEVER done this but I have a 2023 Ford Transit that I have gotten that warning "Brakes Applied Power Reduced" often. I drive 2 footed and have found that this warning (and reduction of power) happens most often in a parking lot when I am still applying a very little gas pedal but braking for a parking spot, at the same time. It has also happened a few times when braking for a RH turn onto a Freeway on-ramp [near my home] and applying power "too quickly" after I have lifted off the brake pedal and pressed the accelerator pedal to get up to freeway speed. At first, it happened almost every day on my way to work in the morning. Now, once I make the RH turn onto the freeway on-ramp, I just let it roll around the corner for 2-3 seconds before accelerating again. It has NOT happened again in the last 3 months, on this freeway on-ramp. To me, this set-up with the computer second guessing my driving mannerisms, is 'most aggravating' !! I would much rather make the decisions about accelerating, etc., on my own. But, as we all now know, Ford doesn't trust anyone to drive safely, any longer. So, they have decided to make those decisions for us whether we like it, or not. I have been driving for almost 60 years and now have to learn to drive to make the computer happy. Does that make any sense?? Not to me. I hope this helps somewhat, Lance

If I were you - I'd research my state's vehicle lemon law and begin the process if you qualify. I suspect you already qualify as you said the dealer had the vehicle for 1 1/2 months.

Do you really want to drive a vehicle (with your family) that has an undiagnosed and unrepairable braking system issue?

Yep, I agree w/ WhiteC5Coupe. If it's a 'braking' malfunction and NOT 'you' that's causing the problem, then, by all means, have Ford buy it back under the Lemon Law. Hopefully, under this buy-back, you recover ALL your money and don't take a hit financially. Good luck to you, Lance
