Has anyone had a drivers side mirror break for no reason? Also how do you change it? It,s on a 1998 exp. with remote control.

You have to replace the entire driver side mirror.

Well, it had to break for SOME reason (imagine your mom saying that....) ;)

Anyway, I presume you mean the mirror glass itself, not the motors/plastic shroud, etc.

Go to this site:

http://www.kwmuth.com/products/kits/200-0002.htm

They will have the replacement kits, as well the a very descriptive manual to download that will tell you how to replace the mirror itself. I have taken mine out to "tighten" it back up (common problem is loose mirrors vibrating), and it is very easy, but of course you have to be careful. It is all in the manual.

Good Luck :D

It may have been broken when i bought it & i didn,t notice it. Thanks for the info,, it always is nice to have an idea what a repair is going to get me into. I,ll be back with more questions about other repairs. Thanks again,,, Housemom

Was this repair costly? Also do you have to replace the whole thing? The mirrors on my truck have this bubbled up look under the mirror, like the glue is coming up. Think I need to replace?

OMG....... Read The Thread!!

No, you do not have to replace the whole mirror assembly, just the mirror if you like.

Go to the link I posted above for the replacement and the instructions.
