Heres a hypothetical. What would happen if I did the brown wire mod and instead of connecting the wire to itself with a switch. I left the end open to the GEM and connected it to a switchable, fused 12v power source. In my thinking that would give me switchable 4x4 hi. Im thinking of trying this tonight.

Huh?

So from what I can tell from my BWM, all the BWM switch does is to activate or deactivate the AWD function. If I remember right, I can leave the BWM switch OPEN and shift into 4hi/4lo with the OEM switch but have only RWD with the OEM switch in the AWD position. And then CLOSE the switch for the AWD function to be active- and 4hi/4lo is still available via the OEM switch as well.

Im looking to active my A4WD on demand via a 12v power source and a switch. Since something is broken with my 4x4 and not allowing me to active 4wd. Also its snowing here and a real pain in the butt to get under my truck right now and fix what I think is the problem. But I need 4wd to get around more safely.
