I downloaded the build sheet today from this site.

The first thing I noticed was the color mismatch. The door sticker shows the code HS (Earth Metallic which is correct) but the build sheet says Stone Green CC Metallic. The other difference was related to the exterior mirrors. The build says they are memory mirrors but they are just the regular power mirrors as far as I know. Was wondering if others who have downloaded the build sheet noticed any discrepancies?

Toyman, can you post the specs/VIN on your Expy ?
Where did you get your color name from?
According to the Ford Paint Charts "HS" is Earth Metallic for an 2011 F150, but on an 2009 Expedition "HS" is Stone Green Metallic.
Also, if I go by the brochure mine is listed as "Black" but the correct name per OASIS report is "Ebony Solid ClearCoat"

I used that site before for my Expy and it was all correct.

Here's the link with the vin added. The door sticker reads "EXT PNT HS". If I were to describe the color I'd say dark brown or dark copper metallic. That I assume is what Ford calls Earth metallic. Looking at color chip for the Stone Green it is definitely a dark green metallic. Stone Green CC Metallic is the color written on the build sheet in the upper right corner. This shows the color code HS for an '08 Expy. The shading appears darker on the car and of course the computer color may not be a good reference.

If you look up the paint chart from Ford in 2008 they have "HS" as Stone Green Metallic but this is the promotional name. The customer division service color name is "Earth".
It has the same part # as the "Earth" color that is on 2011 F150's so it may just be a matter of how they promote it and not an actual description.

Also, do you have a 1 & 2 button on the side of your seat next to the control? If so, you should have memory mirrors, pedals, and seat ( unless someone swapped them out )

One last thing I noticed, Canadian Expys are expensive. My 08 Limited with every option (except LLS) was less than your Eddie Bauer.

Yes there are buttons 1 & 2 next to the set button. I didn't try to see if the mirror resets to a driver's selected position. I was thinking when I asked the question about the auto mirror retract feature where the mirrors will fold in when the vehicle is locked and the alarm is set.

So much for free trade when it comes to retail pricing. There has been reported instances where US dealers are advised that their dealership will be in jeopardy if they sell new vehicles to non US residents. As a Canadian retailer I see similar instances where the Canadian wholesale price from a US supplier/manufacturer is anywhere from 10 - 40% above the US wholesale price even though the dollars are trading at or near par. Extremely frustrating especially in an internet global economy.

Getting back to the Expy, I bought it last fall for $24k with about 45k miles on the clock. That price appeared to be close to the US price at the time.

The powerfold mirrors were only available on the Limiteds. They dont fold automatically when the alarm is set either, you have to manually push the mirror switch down when you want to fold or unfold them.

I had expected them to work like the ones on a '04 Jaguar. Not only do they fold in when the car is locked but they dip down so you can see the rear wheels and pavement when you shift into reverse. I guess the rear view on the Nav system (which I don't have) is the substitute.

Some of the older Epxy's had the mirror tilt when you put in reverse.

Mine came with NAV and rear camera but the image shows up in my rearview mirror (thats how it was on the 08's) it wasn't until 09 that they changed it to show up on the NAV screen.

I moved the driver side mirror to a different position without the key in the ignition. When the key was inserted the seat moves but the mirror didn't reposition itself. I seem to recall that when the seat tilt positions are changed the only adjustment associated with inserting the key was for them to move forward. It's beginning to seem like there is a memory module malfunction or something similar. Any ideas where to look and test?

Toyman, did you set the positions per the manual ( page 176 ) first ?
You want the key in the ignition or vehicle running in Park to properly set things. Basically you adjust the seat, pedals, and mirrors to the way you want them then press "SET" then press "1". Now go adjust the mirrors or seat to a different position and then press "1" again and see if they go back to where you had them.

If the seat automatically moves forward when you put the key in the ignition then you have the "Easy Entry" mode set.

I think so but computer color images can be deceiving. Depending on the lighting I would better describe it as dark brown metallic.

I'll do that tomorrow. Didn't I read somewhere in the manual that you can also program the settings such that it can activate the memory function based on the fob used to unlock the doors.

I'll re-read that whole section later as well.

Yes you can. For example my wifes remote and setting is #1 and mine is #2. I guess you could read into that......I'm number 2.....:idiot:

I adjusted everything, followed the instructions provided, then pressed set and #1 while in Park with the engine running. Removed the key altered the driver's side mirror. Inserted the key and the mirror did not reset (seat moved forward as it's always done). So what am I doing wrong? Is there a memory module that hasn't been connected or isn't working? Might have to pay a visit to the local dealer and have them show me that it works as advertised.

This is probably a silly question but after you altered all the settings did you push the "1" button again?
It wont return to the saved setting just by inserting the key, the desired memory setting #1 or #2 needs to be pushed ( or recalled with the programmed remote )

Also, if you move the pedals do they return to the memory setting when you press "1" ???

Just did as you suggested. Engine running in park and seat, mirror and pedals positioned and set and #1. Everything came back to the set position when #1 was pressed after changing them. So it looks like it's working. I'll make certain that I have the procedure for syncing the fob to #1 setting for myself and the other fob for the wife's preferences. Thanks,
