Is there a way to tell which Cylinder Head I will need? I know I am getting the drivers side. But there is Romeo and Windsor. I have a 2003 Ford Expedition XLT 4.6L. Is there a way to know without removing the head itself? I don't want to remove it until I am ready to start adding parts back on.

well, my issue is settled, but we still don't know what character in the 8th space dictates whether it's a Romeo, or a Windsor. Is it a secret? will anyone just say what the character should be?

Inquiring minds want to know!

still no answer... what does this mean?

This is how conspiracy theories start.

Look at the sticker on the valve cover. I think mine was on the driver side.

should say either REP or WEP.

But my 2V is now sold and it was a 5.4- which I think was only made at the WEP.

In the VIN, the 8th digit tells the type motor. A number 6 means it's a Windsor. A letter W means its a Romeo.

2001-2004 4.6L motors are Romeos. (11) 10mm bolts holding down the valve cover.

The Windsor 4.6 has at least 13 8mm bolts holding down the valve cover.
