I was on the fence so went with all black so it matches. then i saw the tuxedo top wrap. i honestly LOVE thr way that looks. if you have not seen it its where they wrap the roof in black including the A pillar. it ties in the black tailgate really nicely

The black tailgate looks terrible. It's like when your buddy has a baby and the thing is absolutely ugly and everyone says, oh she's so pretty, but no one really means it.

The whole tailgate isn’t black, so it’s not that bad. Honestly, you’ll get used to it quick and probably forget all about it.

I had to look up a picture from a local dealer. It looks to me like a highway patrol model. That might come in handy. When the fuzz starts to pull you over, they might abort thinking that it is an undercover po po.

Can you match the star white. the Oxford white i know you could easily but with the metallic tri coat paint im not sure if ill get a match and honestly the color difference would drive me nuts .

Yes it’s hard for some colors to find a wrap that matches perfectly. But it’s a much cheaper “experiment” than painting and you can always take it off or change it if you want.

Have seen a few online with the tailgate color matched painted but when reaching out to my dealer they said it could not be painted due to the different material of the tailgate. Anyone have experience with this? I know wrapping it is an option but have not seen a metallic white that matches.

That new tailgate is a disaster. It adds zero functionality to what we use our vehicle for, mainly golf. We don’t go tailgating. I’ll be buying out the lease on my ‘22 Expedition.
