Hello to everyone reading this..i have a 99 expo an itz around 130,000 miles but still runs great. Iam having an issue with it an itz probably the only one. I fixed the arms, ball joints, bearings, tie rods, new rotors, new tires...an for some reason i cannot make the noise go away...it sounds like tire rubbing when i turn right unto an intersection an push on the gas a little.does anyone know or ever experienced it before an how can it be fixed or what is it????like i said i pretty much checked everything no rubbing marks under truck or nothing..can anyone give me info

4x4 or 2wd? Just thinking out loud....It's possible the transfer case is going if it's a 4x4. Maybe if it has the Auto 4x4 switch something is wrong with the sensor and it's going into 4wd on tighter turns. Axle shafts/cv joints? Could be a variety of things associated with the drivetrain, and without hearing it in person may be difficult to assess. Good luck.

I am having a similar problem with my 99 xlt awd.. When I turn it sounds exactly like a tire rubbing but they are OEM size, and I have check everywhere for wear...Nothing. I was worried it was possibly something in the drivetrain...any thing to check? or any good indicators?

Guys, check for broken shocks, or warn u joints, these will tend to sound like a tire rubbing

WHEN GOING AROUND A CORNER.AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A TIRERUB FOR JUST LIKE A SECOND OR TWO.ITS MOST LIKELY THE CLUTCH packs in the rearend change the gear oil
and add the friction modifier to it

Already tried replacing bearings and seals in rear end...still doing it :( Shocks are newer as well as new tie-rod ends...would the ball joints do this?
